We understand some customers may be facing unexpected challenges and want you to know we're here to help.
Citi has a range of assistance measures available and dedicated assistance lines for customers experiencing financial hardship as a result of the shutdown.
There are a number of ways we may be able to assist:
Citibank:
Citi will automatically refund any monthly service or overdraft fees for bank customers who are federal employees with direct deposit to a Citibank account. In addition, banking customers may be eligible for fee adjustments, including overdraft fees.
Citi Cards:
Eligible cardholders in good standing can qualify for refunds or waivers of late fees, interest charge waivers, credit line increases, as well as collection forbearance and settlement programs.
CitiMortgage:
Assistance for eligible customers includes short-term forbearance programs, repayment plans and loan modifications.
To find out about the assistance that may be available to you, simply call Citi's dedicated assistance lines and when prompted for your call reason, mention ‘government shutdown’ to speak with a representative.
In addition, Citi, which provides travel cards for federal agencies, has deployed a special Government Shutdown Assistance program for federal employees to ensure individual employees have the support they need to keep accounts fully operational. Assistance includes waiving late fees for up to ten calendar days after the shutdown ends and preventing the suspension or cancellation of accounts.
We realize you may have other things on your mind right now, but if you need our assistance, we are here for you. Call us to see what we can do to help.
And remember, you can always find our contact information on the back of your card, on your statement or in the Citi Mobile App.
